Implementing a Successful Prehospital Blood Program: Collaboration Is Key

This session will feature Cobb County Department of Emergency Communications in Atlanta, Georgia, on their role in implementing a prehospital blood program. Attendees will hear about how relationship-building and collaboration with partnering emergency response agencies are vital, particularly in the beginning stages of new initiatives. Additionally, Cobb County will share how call-taking protocols, specifically Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), play a unique role in how their dispatch supports the success of their prehospital blood program. Hear the story of how their blood program experienced its first save after a motor vehicle crash, just four days after its launch. 

Federal Communications Commission Update

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will provide an annual update on the transition to Next Generation 911 (NG911), including details on 911 Authorities submitting “Valid Requests” to facilitate the process. Additionally, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of two recently adopted Notice of Proposed Rulemakings (NPRMs) regarding improving NG911 Reliability and Wireless Location Accuracy.
