Strengthening Emergency Response: 911 and Traffic Management Center Collaboration

This session featured the Florida Department of Transportation and the Seminole County Fire Department and Marion Public Safety Communications, highlighting their collaborative efforts between Traffic Management Centers (TMCs) and 911 to strengthen emergency response. Attendees learned how building strong relationships and fostering communication between TMCs and emergency communications can enhance roadway safety nationwide.

Attendees learned how an integrated approach has enhanced their crash response by improving traffic and roadway safety, incident management, and resource allocation. From the initial 911 call to on-scene coordination, participants will hear how these partnerships lead to better outcomes for both incident patients and emergency responders. With State Patrol dispatch co-located in the Traffic Management Center, the teams have advanced initiatives such as response decision coordination and data sharing, showcasing the power of collaboration.
