Data-Gathering Tips & Efforts at Regionalization with Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA)

PEMA Executive Deputy Director Jeff Boyle shared details of the state’s online data-gathering portal, which has automated processes in Pennsylvania’s 911 program, reducing the administrative burden on 911 centers. In a second presentation, Boyle and 911 center representatives discussed regionalization efforts to share phone, CAD and radio systems.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Regulatory Update

Updates covered in this webinar include annual 911 Fee Report updates, report and rule-making updates at the FCC and the status of ongoing location-accuracy efforts. Also discussed was the latest news on ESInets (Emergency Services Internet Protocol Network) and service redundancy at the Coastal ESInet Cooperative in South Carolina.

PSAP Response to Railroad Incidents & Benefits of Intelligent Transportation Systems

This presentation covered the Emergency Notification System, the Federal Railroad Administration’s Cross and GIS data, and additional first responder resources related to incidents requiring emergency assistance on or near railroad tracks. The second part of the webinar discussed how the McConnell Public Safety and Transportation Operations Center in Virginia brings together various agencies to enhance the delivery of services during emergency situations and to improve traffic congestion.
